frog/toad spawn

hi has anyone in the south yorkshire area seen or have any spawn in their ponds yet? Iv not seen any yet in our ponds or in the ponds around our area, i really would like to get some any advise thanks kirsty

Are you planning on putting it in your pond? if so i would advise you dont put other spawn in your pond, if frogs havent bred there, there must be a reason why. Its far better to attract frogs to your garden and encourage them, so that eventualy they breed naturally. Often moving spawn is damaging, fluctuating water temp and conditions does it or the tadpoles no favours.

hi iv had my two big ponds finished for the past two years, they are well covered with ground plants/shrubs the ponds are clear of disease and tested regulary and have other pond life so they are well established the only trouble is our area used to have vast amounts of toad and frog but due to heavy building work by companies on land that was known to have them, the numbers have reduced a great deal, iv allottments too so im not new to nature,i really would like to get some spawn so i can try and rebuild the population up again for our area. I know birmingham have signs of frog spawn so i hope that the warmer weather is working its way up to us, but if anyone has any spare i would be very grateful....
