| | | slow worms Hi all,
Bit new to this so if i'm repeating anything sorry.
i've been down in Pembrookshire at the weekend and saw lots of little slow worms. (how cute )i'm now back up on sunny wirral and wondering if they live this neck of the woods too. i'd love to ba able to photograph them, and it saves me the trip to south wales all the time.
thank you in advance of any advise |

| | | Re: slow worms hi
a few people seem to have seen slowworms already this year which is unusual, so well done!
there a few common lizard sites on the wirral but i'm not sure about slowworms. however, you're very close to north wales where slowworms are very common. The Rhydymwyn Valley Site
the above links will take you to an interesting site but there are others. let me know if you are interested.
cheers

| | | Re: slow worms Hello,
My first post!
the wirral and north wales are good places to see slow worms. ive just begun to learn about them and been to a couple of meetings of local groups on them!
and what ive learnt is that if you find one one however normally under the ground at this time of the year, then let the local amphibian and reptile group know of your recording, it will be of valuable help. theres a north west slow worm project underway from now so be sure you do!
go searching!

| | | Re: slow worms While moving some garden waste we came upon two slow worms at the weekend. Luckily they were not hurt. My daughter held one before we put it back into the pile.
My question is do slow worms cope with being handled? Or should they be left?
It was great for her to see one but I am not sure about them being handled. |
