That seems a touch early to me. Maybe it won't survive the next frost (if we get any).

Hi, I live in Cornwall and found the first frogspawn in my pond today 7th February, this is about typical for us, the pond water temperature is 10 degrees C right now. |

Frogs often breed this early or earlier. Ive seen several toads making their way to a breeding lake this morning. Aslong as its not totally froze solid, frog spawn is quite hardy, all cold does is slow its development. |

The frogs arent spawning but they are on the move,,, One of our frogs was a victim on the road last night,,,,Nice to hear Doghound say the toads are on the move. Nice to see signs of Spring..

No sign of any frogs in our pond yet, over the last couple of years we have only been getting 2 or 3 batches of spawn. The Koi just scoff most of it anyway so I save some in a heath robinson contraption. |

I've had a the first frog in my pond for 3 weeks now which is pretty much unheard of in mid-Buckinghamshire, as far as I'm aware. Admittedly it is on its own at the moment but certainly we're way ahead of schedule for this part of the country. Hope we don't get a late cold snap or I fear he may not survive. |
