| | | Re: early frog spawn That seems a touch early to me. Maybe it won't survive the next frost (if we get any).

| | | Re: early frog spawn Frogs often breed this early or earlier. Ive seen several toads making their way to a breeding lake this morning. Aslong as its not totally froze solid, frog spawn is quite hardy, all cold does is slow its development. |

| | | Re: early frog spawn No sign of any frogs in our pond yet, over the last couple of years we have only been getting 2 or 3 batches of spawn. The Koi just scoff most of it anyway so I save some in a heath robinson contraption. |

| | | Re: early frog spawn I've had a the first frog in my pond for 3 weeks now which is pretty much unheard of in mid-Buckinghamshire, as far as I'm aware. Admittedly it is on its own at the moment but certainly we're way ahead of schedule for this part of the country. Hope we don't get a late cold snap or I fear he may not survive. |

Ive seen frogs in frozen ponds. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
