| | | Re: Selection of our Reptiles Great - and will be good to see pictures in the Gallery - especially to show how much wildlife there is in such out of the way places as Tilbury!
Many people take a rather snotty attitude to Essex but there is a lot of exciting stuff to be seen for thoe who care to look!

As for our wildlife, it is just as diverse as anywhere else.... We have soo many different habitats, Small Wetland & Salt Marshes in Rainham, Canvey & Pitsea (which are RSPB controlled), the Thames Estuary, not to mention acres of Grass & Woodland, and if you know where, pockets of small habitats that hold good numbers of our more exotic species. So as for a county to be snotted at, the cover definitely doesn't resemble the book. |

The one problem with RSPB rainham is its a pain to get to by public transport! |

Not sure if this is the reason but, maybe the very wet summer we had caused an abundance of slugs , the main part of a slowys diet.
Those are great pics for a mobile phone, thanks for sharing

My local patch is Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea which has some wonderful wildlife throughout the year .... and now I have the Vange Marsh and Canvey West RSPB reserves to lokk forward to plus the Wallasea Island project.
Mind you, I also like visiting Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent and I definitely need my annual trips to Wales and the Scottish Highlands.
