I am still looking! The weather has been against me of late:-(Will keep you all informed as to my progress.I have a mate who has knows of a small group of Adders near by, hopefully I will be able to see them and get a couple of photos soon. Thanks for all your advice! As for the 'making buttons' comment....the only animal that has ever made me feel like that was a Grizzly bear coming a bit to close in Alaska!Cheers,

| | | Re: Adders and Common lizards If you do decide to search an area with long grass, make sure you look where you put your feet. On a known site for adders (was on a fungi foray at the time), my left foot came within inches of one! It wasnt really bothered though so I took a few steps back, got my camera out to which it promptly disappeared in to cover!

| | | Re: Adders and Common lizards Davey,
You'll find that the weather is warm enough for them, when it gets above 14-15 degrees C, they are more likely to scoot into cover. Talking about Adders, there's a site I have to check out where I saw what I think was one(saw the tail-end disappear in to cover). Hopefully the weather will be ok for me Friday morning....
