| | | Adder late in the season.... Hi there,
I was working on heathland today and came across this wonderful female who was quite willing to pose for some shots!! I think because of the cooler temperatures she wasn't as active as she would have been earlier on in the year.
Lucky for me though! I got a few descent shots earlier on this year but wasn't able to get as close as I did today.
I really wasn't expecting to see any adders until next year. I hope she survives the colder weather and gets to her hibernaculum asap! |

| | | Re: Adder late in the season.... No not really. Quite chilly actually. I was wrapped up well with a thermal top and a fleece. The wind factor didn't help either.
I took these in Chobham, Surrey. I was surprised to see her.
This might be the latest in the year that I have ever seen them. |

Mark H | Thank you. I was actually worried for her as I left the area, wondering whether she would find suitable shelter before the evening. |

| | | Re: Adder late in the season.... I'm thinking that she may have been disturbed. Maybe by us working close by or by dogs that are very common on the site, and tend to run around amongst the heather alot. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
