| | | Adders in Pwllheli, August. Just spent 2 weeks in Pwllheli yet again and had to catch up with the Adders. They are definately more elusive at this time of the year and every time I got ready to take a shot they were off like a shot but managed to get a couple of pics, one of which is this one and literally within 2 seconds of taking this picture it was gone. They're so fantastic. |

| | | Re: Adders in Pwllheli, August. Hi,
Saw my first grass snake this year on Monday, [ only average two a year ], this is how MY photo session goes, similar to demicav's.
1] see snake curled up on bramble leaves, about three feet off the ground.
2] Ah,ok it's a grass snake.
3] It's curled up on top of the brambles, what a photo.
4] Reach for camera.
5] Snake moves, and falls through brambles.
End of session !
Max.

Was in Cornwall earlier this year and at Lands End where the coastal heath is, there are signs up saying 'Caution, basking Adders' or words to the effect. Didn't see any Adders but saw a Common Lizard.

Mark | That's interesting, thanks. We will be going to Lands end so I will keep a special look out. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
