... First neonate Common lizard of the year  Last year the earliest I saw was the 4th of August, so the rain obviously hasn't delayed them too much. The good April means that most of the breeding was out of the way before the bad weather anyway. First of this year's Grass snakes was the 18th of July, which is early too. WARNING: bad photos ahead;

Saw my first baby common lizard on the 18th July (first lizard I've seen all year) on a tiny strip of dunes close to home on the Wirral.No camera with me though. |

I saw a baby lizard a couple of weeks ago so rather early. I must take a trip out to one of the heaths to see if there's any baby Sand Lizards or Smooth Snakes.
