| |  Toad hole
We've found a hole in the ground in our rhubarb path, it's about the size of a golf ball. We think it's a toad hole but could it be anything else?
We do get a lot of slugs and snails sheltering under the rhubarb so if a toad has taken up residence that would be fab! |

Dont think that hole was dug by a toad, they generally dont burrow in the way a mouse does for example, they usually use their back legs and shuffle under the ground, looks more like a small mammal, chances are you have toads around anyway if their are lots of slugs |

We do get quite a few toads, today we found a little one in the grass  |

The hole was made by a rodent, but a Toad may use it to shelter during the day. |

We have a hole like that in our raised bed. I think it was made by the wood mice but I have seen a toad in it. They do use old mice holes. |

They do use old mice holes. | I have wondered about that given the amount of slug slime around the hole but as far as we can tell the hole is quite new, we only noticed it a few weeks ago and I'm sure we'd have noticed it sooner if it had been there for long. | | |
