Frogs & Common Lizard at altitude

Could someone inform me as to what altitude these amphibians will go to breed in the British Isles.
Just recently at 620 mtrs near to Glen Sheil, Kyle of LochAlsh, we came across both species
and frog spawn in the puddles created by fell walkers.
Locally in Lancashire I have come across them at 250mtrs.

Ive never really thought about it but i cant see why they shouldnt be there at those reasonable altitudes?...if there is water, sun etc....although when i was at 5,550m on everest and at -22 i would have been surpised to see a frog !

Infact over 5000m not much at all was living....including myself!

comnnah i wanted to ask the same,when i go wales i go up mountains of 400-500 t .will they be this high.
connah would you send me a pm as to where you have seen them in lancashire?

Trough of Bowland, Waddington Fell, on just 1 occasion 3 yrs ago, the exact locallity of which i don't remember, as I am primarily an Ornithologist, it was good to witness if only briefly. If the environment is right I assume they will be sucessfull, but in the Western Highlands at 620mtrs where they may only get brief spells of sunlight to warm up, I was quite surprised to say the least.
