| | Frog & Toad spawn For the first year we have had frog and toad spawn in our small pond. The frogs are now at tadpole stage. We thought the toadspawn had not been fertilised as the tadpoles were so small but the strings have just broken up to reveal clumps of tiny wriggling taddies.
Are there any schemes in place to swap spawn? |

| | | Re: Frog & Toad spawn On the whole,I think the advantages of transferring spawn from one (healthy) pond to another that needs stocking outweigh the risks:amphibians urgently need as many good homes as we can provide for them! I have a thriving population of newts and frogs in my urban pond and garden, having introduced them as spawn and eggs.I'd love to have toads too... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
