| | | Adder Sites in North East England This site rocks!
Am wondering whether anyone can point me in the direction of any good Adder spotting sites in the North East of England? Also what would be the best time of the day this time of the year to see them?
Visited Hamsterley Forest in Teesdale last week, where Adders are known to frequent the area - weather seemed right but no luck finding any! Maybe if i keep on visiting i'll see them eventually. Quite excited to see an Adder as have never seen one before. |

| | | Re: Adder Sites in North East England I have posted a picture of an adder that we came across in Dalby Forest in the North York Moors - is that North enough for you though?

Not quite North East, but Allerthorpe Common near York is supposedly a good spot for adders. Never been myself. I only found out about the site through BBC Wildlife magazine, they did a section on adders in March and Allerthorpe was listed as being in top ten places to see them. It was the site furthest North.
Here is a link to Allerthorpe Common website: Allerthorpe Common

Hope this helps.
