My clue is: Am I a blushing bumpkin? No, but allow me to alliterate...
You are looking for an animal that can fly.

| | | Re: guess who Rosy Rustic !!!
My long experience on this thread immediately told me that bumpkin meant one of the Rustic moths! A quick search on UK Moths did the rest. Knowing what alliteration is helped too! |

Oh yes, I'm at a bit of a disadvantage not knowing which clues have gone before - and I never got around to reading all 200+ pages of posts, yet
Anyway, over to you.
P.S. - wonder why no-one else wants to play? |

Also Thunder and Garden Carpet probably have more important things on their mind at the moment! Mind you, so should TBR!
Right I'll go and try to think up a reasonably challenging clue ... |

Not sure if I'm right, but I'll be happy if I am because I just used my brain for that one. |

| | | Re: guess who More of a general knowledge clue this time. I breath through gills, but I'm not a fish.
I "give birth" to live young, but I'm not a mammal.
People associate me with cheese, potato and roly-poly.
What contrary creature am I? |

| | | Re: guess who The combined brains of Jaki and Henry, otherwise unoccupied at present (What are we supposed to be occupied with Pete? )consider the answer to be woodlouse.
They are known variously as Cheesybugs, potato bugs and rolypoly (am never going to look at suet pudding in the same way again )
Eggs are brooded in a brood sack and live young are released and they breath through gill like structures.

| | | Re: guess who Hi Jaki and Henry - YOU ARE CORRECT - well done!
The first two parts of the clue are self-explanatory, and I was thinking that the alternative names for woodlouse were potato bug, roly-poly and cheeselog; cheesybugs is an interesting variation
Over to you

I sound like a mammal, it sounds as if I can do what this mammal does, when with this mammal I go where it goes. Up, up and away!

| | | Re: guess who djackso, you are so close... think of a different form of mammal... one who can do what the name of this critter implies... ie... flies.
