| | | Printing advice I have had quite a bit of interest from people wanting to buy prints from my website and I was after some advice with regards to printing and framing. What is the best way to get around the difference between shape frame/frame apertures (Seemingly most commonly 5 x 7) and the camera ratio (6 x 4). Do you crop pictures for framing? I was also wondering whether people think it might be a good idea to leave a blank white border around photographs when no mount is being used and where a signature could be placed? Any advice from people who have taken the steps to printing and selling photographs would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

| | | Re: Printing advice If you are considering producing a number of framed prints for sale you might find it worth while going to a specialist company.
When considering something similar I discovered this company. Home - Professional Printing, Photobooks Printing, Canvas Wraps, Photo albums - Colorworld Imaging
They do everything for you and send the finished product to your customers.
I never went down the semi pro road myself so haven't actually used that company; although they appear to be highly regarded. Obviously there is a slight price factor to be considered but possibly not as much as you might expect.
Otherwise Kayleigh's previous post covers everything in detail. |

| | | Re: Printing advice Thanks guys. So the best bet to deal with the discrepancy in the dimensions of the file and the dimensions of the aperture of the frame is to crop the 6 x 4 file to 7 x 5? I don't understand why I cant find any frames that are 6 x 4 in the shops! Thanks for the link, I was planning on getting the prints done online and to send them out myself when I receive them so I can be 100% happy with the final thing (I have had some come back under exposed and bad quality in the past) but i will look into this now. I am nearly sorted now, I just need to work out cost and payment details. Thanks again!
