| | | Best Settings for Northern Lights? We're off up north to Braemar on Thursday and the sky is supposed to be clear towards the weekend so fingers crossed for a good viewing.
Can anyone suggest which camera settings I should be on for a good picture please? ie ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
Any other advice appreciated too. |

| | | Re: Best Settings for Northern Lights? Thank you for the links Jim and artdemole. As Kayleigh says I can't find any info re camera settings on the first link and a brief mention of settings using a Nikon on the second.
To elaborate, my camera is a Canon 50D and I'll be using a Canon EF 24-105L lens.
Can anyone recommend which settings I should use please? |

| | | Re: Best Settings for Northern Lights? I think its a matter of trying the settings and see what works I found these..
RAW mode
Daylight White Balance
ISO 400
F/4.0, 30-40 seconds or F/2.8, 15-20 seconds
Histogram enabled
Low LCD brightness
I would use the TV setting too. |
