I'd say the first one has it! Mainly because the background is a tad darker and it works better with a white subject.
You've picked a difficult coloured subject. White is a nightmare at the best of times. Perhaps if you try again with a darker subject, the results would be reversed.
I'm only nit picking because that's what you want! They're both very good images. !!

Thanks guys - and yes it wasn't the best thing to take with flash hank but unfortunately it was the only fungi around the wood!! And having hefted the gear I was not going to be done out of a play!!!! Maybe there will be other and better subjects today - tho the fungi seem to have gone to ground round our way??
