Easy to follow macro beginners "book"

I have only had a quick look at that site but it appears to me that it is chiefly concerned with flowers or dead insects in a carefully controlled environment.

I wouldn't expect to get much success with some of those suggestions when photographing live insects in the wild.

But it is still worth reading.

This site gives some background information, although it can appear a bit technical Macro Camera Lenses

And this site gives a lot of practical information about flower photography, although much of the advice will also apply to other subjects.

It is, however, written for a slightly advanced audience; but will provide a lot of information if you stick with it.
