Hey Simon,

Mammoth task indeed. Welcome to a lifetime's project. Pick the bird of prey you want to photograph next, research it, find out what habitat it lives in and locate some of that habitat, get yourself off there. Also you're going to need a heap of luck or some local knowledge. Fortunately the latter is easy as all you have to do is talk to the people you meet.

Easy one to start with by way of an example then. Red kite. Where are they prevalent? You'd probably wait a month of Sundays for one to float over your back garden so...get yourself off to where they are.
