I've engineered a chance to use a Nikon 1.4TCE MkII for a couple of days and return it if I don't like it. Main task is to see how it gets on with the Sigma 105mm. I'll let you know!

| | | Re: Teleconverter advice? Hi Dave,
The Nikon converter will not work with the Sigma lens - it won't physically fit due to a tab on the front mounting ring of the converter.
I have the Nikon 1.4, 1.7 and 2.0 converters and they will only work on certain Nikon AF-S and AF-1 lenses and definitely not on any Sigma lenses.
If you Google "nikon af-s converter compatibility" you'll find near the bottom of the first page this pdf to download:
blog.nikonians.org/.../Nikonians%20Teleconverter%20Table.pdf
which lists all converter compatibility.
Cheers,
Rog |

That's knocked that one on the head then!
Thanks also to the pointer to the converter compatibility table. Don't know why I never found that on my numerous searches.
Looks like I need to borrow a Kenko!!

The Kenko should be fine with the 105mm macro. I use one with my Sigma 150mm macro, as do lots of others Wabbers, and I'm very pleased with the results.
