| | Inclement weather camera Hi,
I went out in the snow yesterday and realised very quickly that my Bridge camera/Teleconverter combo was not very efficient with snow still blowing.
I would happily invest in a wet-weather alternative camera/lens/TC if I were confident that I could get half decent pics under such conditions.
Does anybody have any experience or guidance on a useful set up? |

| | | Re: Inclement weather camera What are you trying to photograph? I use the sleeve from an old cagoule and
operate the camera from the wider (shoulder) end the elasticated cuff goes around the lense.

| | | Re: Inclement weather camera If you are talking about snow on the lens ruining photos then there is not a lot you can do about. A lens hood will help, but if the snow is blowing into the lens it will have an effect on the photos. I think it is a matter of wiping the lens and grabbing a shot before it gets flakes on it again.
If it is more general weather/waterproofing then there are quite a few protective covers you can buy, but Nightshade's suggestion also sounds good.

| | | Re: Inclement weather camera My DSLR camera and lenses are weather protected and I've spent 8 Hrs in the driving rain with it just slung over my shoulder. The problem is that under those conditions there's not much to take a photograph of!

| | | Re: Inclement weather camera Thanks for the responses...
nightshade, love the idea - project already underway
Tringa, a hood would probably help, I was only able to use the camera through 180 degrees.
Jim, yeah attempting wildlife photography in the rain is rather limiting - certainly couldn't manage 8 hours lol... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
