For those that may be interested in possible new equipment

APERTURE ACADEMY - Fine Art Photography Gallery, Digital Photography Workshops: Canon 200-400mm and 600mm prototype lenses first sightings...and the new 5D Mark III?

That lens should be a great bit of kit for wildlife. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to spend any more on a lens this year.

And if its a 7D Mk11 I'm very keen. What I would really like is improved low light capability with a 1.6 crop factor. (not that the 7D is terrible in low light)

How I'd love to have a 200-400, with a built in 1.4X! It'll never happen though.
Can we have some guesses as to the price? I'd say around the £6,000?

I`d say you`re about right.....somewhere around £5,500-00, however it would be a superb lens I`m sure. Trying to compete with the Nikon 200-400mm I think.

Wouldn't mind a go with the 200-400mm. I presume it will be f/4 but he doesn't seem to say unless I missed it.

Strange technique he has there, resting the lens on a beanbag by it's tripod mount?

Yes, it's an F4. The built in 1.4 is a great idea. No messing about taking lenses off and on the camera just flick a switch and it's there, flick it back and it's off.
