I took this with an Olympus sp500uz http://
and am quite pleased its a Hornet Asian Vespa velutina by the way
you can get right in http://
both images are hand held and just cropped

I have a fujifinepix and have taken some great macro shots with an opteka lens attached. |

I still have an old Nikon Coolpix 995. I don't use it now, but it was very good for macro. Two features really helped with macro: 1: Very close minimum focussing distance (IIRC 2cm). 2: a swivelling viewfinder screen - great for low level work.
Some later Coolpix models also had these facilities.
