Got a Manfrotto 679B Pod and was wondering do I need to put a head on it such as 243RC or can it be used without ?
7D/400 f5.6L

You will definitely benefit from using a tilt-head such as the 234RC. Otherwise you have to keep moving the angle of the monopod to aim up or down. I'd say it's essential! |

Not only essential but also desirable! It makes using the monopod so easy. I wouldn't use anything else.  |

My friends use this un. It is Excellent.
Manfrotto 393 Long Lens Monopod Bracket..Priced at £139 at Warehouse Express. Gone up by £30 in last 5 months. Have a look at it. | | |
