Yay! I'm back in the saddle!
I was going to drive back to Kingston to pick it up but they couriered it back to me. Not only that but, because of the repeat problems with the lens, they did the clean and service on the body and replaced the rubber grips gratis! 
Best news of all is that they've nailed the lens problem. They replaced the focus helicoid tube (whatever that is) and now I'm once more getting some keepers at max aperture...   
I'm a happy bunny tonight and will be even happier if today's bright weather is repeated next weekend.

I must admit I was getting a little concerned because if it had come back still bad this time I was going to ask for a replacement and I think I might have had a fight on my hands! I'm very relieved that they got to the bottom of it in the end.

Its great they eventually found the problem its a shame they didn't find the fault in the first place but at least its sorted now. |

Glad you got yours sorted m8..
Not had a confirmation from Sigma on whether they received my lens yet. Two weeks now. Sent them an email this morning and waiting an answer.
I hope they got it because I did not insure it via post office, and only sent it first class. Got fed up of paying around the £12 mark each time I send them a lens. I wil not ever buy another Sigma lens after this..Always thought a lens was to last for Life!!. | | | |
