| | | What camera Hi guys,
Seems to be somewhat covered already, i will read those posts to now.
I am developing a keen interest in wildlife photography, i will be looking to purchase a camera to replace my t200.
What i would like to know is atm what type of camera is a good performer?
I want to be able to adjust from good light to poor, be able to zoom in well and also take decent macro shots, also be able to capture some moving targets.
Plz do not suggest cameras that cost thousands of pounds as this is out of my budget. If i have written this too vaguely for good answers plz shout at me for more info.
Thx Rob |

| | | Re: What camera What are you looking for a bridge camera or DSLR..
The fuji finepix is a good bridge camera but tbh I would save up there are some good offers on I got a canon 500d with a 55mm lens, tamron 70-300mm lens and a lowpero camera bag all for around £700 I got a macro lens separate..
So it really depends on what you want to spend and what camera you want I love my canon as its comfortable for me to hold ans not too bulky but others don't like this camera its easy to change the settings as most are on the outside the fuji is all inside you have to access the menu but then I only used the auto setting so this didn't really bother me but I was never really happy with the shots but the macro was great on it. |

| | | Re: What camera Im thinking to get the best out of the pics i want a DSLR is going to be the way to go, so that lens can changed according to what is needed.
The camera you have certainly seems to be very good, i also like the look of CANON EOS550D it comes pretty highly rated.
£800 is about my limit to spend atm, that doesnt have to be a bundle as extra lenses can be bought in he future.

Rob |
Have a look around as they seem to be on offer atm ready for Christmas..
Here they have a selection the bundles are not that much dearer than the body only.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/mn/search/?r...37;20550d&rd=1
Good luck..

| | | Re: What camera As per my reply here - which camera - I'd suggest buying second hand from a reputable dealer, rather than buying new.
Also I'd suggest buying a camera body that is one generation older (and therefore cheaper) than you initially want to, and spend the money that you save that way on getting a better lens. The lens will probably make more of a difference than the slightly better camera body: e.g. get a lens with image stabilisation if you can, or one with a slightly longer focal length. You can always upgrade the camera body in the future, if you find it is holding you back. |

Rob | My Nikon D7000 had rave reviews and after six months of reading them I got one in July.
A superb camera indeed. Wonderful at the mid ISO range. And with a really good lens on the front I can crop very hard if needed. I'm using it with a Nikon 300mm f4 lens plus a 1.4TC and also 1.7TC. But in decent lighting it's ability to be cropped hard means the 300mm lens on it's own covers a lot of the ground I want it for. That's very useful when in cramped, part hidden conditions trying to photo a bird like a Short Eared Owl that is hunting all over the place!
Oh, and battery life is truly excellent.
D7000. Note the three zeros!
Cheers,
Bryan

| | | Re: What camera For around that budget you will be able to get excellent cameras from many manufacturers.
One more to consider is a Pentax K5.
A couple of advantages of Pentax DSLRs are, any K mount lens (ie dating from the mid 70s onwards) will fit (you will lose some of the auto functions) and the image stabilisation is in the camera, so any lens is in effect an IS lens.
