Canon 1.4x teleconverter with Canon eF 300mm L f/4

Does the Canon EF 1.4x teleconverter work on the Canon 300mm L f/4. I've also got a Canon 20D as the main camera.

I have just mounted my Canon 300 F4 L IS + Canon 1.4 Mk2 T/C on my 5D Mk1 and af is fine under fairly low light (my living room lights). Your 20D has the same constraints as the 5d so it will work just fine, though it may hesitate a bit more as the light drops.
Note some "Non Reporting" T/Cs will work even if the F stop drops below F5.6 (eg some Kenko models) but the af wil be a little iffy.
