| | | Re: Canon d60 memory card Presuming you mean the 60D? If so no, the 400D uses a CF card, whereas the 60D uses an SD format. I believe the 5D, 7D and EOS 1 series are still using CF cards. However, with the introduction of the new SDXC format which has a theoretical limit of 2TB it may be that pro cameras will soon make the move. Although all those who have several £100's worth of CF cards may well suggest they want a dual card system!
Hope this helps

| | | Re: Canon d60 memory card No worries, anytime. If it helps, the camera is a cracking upgrade, definitely worth it, if you are hitting the limitation of the 400D. Although some features like the micro adjustment have been removed, but that has always only been on flagship models, which after the introduction of the 7D the 60D is not anymore.
If you are keen not to change the card format the 50D takes the CF card format, and if you are lucky, with a bit of digging, you might still find a new one.
All the Best and Good luck

| | | Re: Canon d60 memory card Don't sweat it about the card - SDHC cards are refreshingly cheap and getting faster.
I use a 16GB Transcend Class 10 SDHC as the second card in my 1D4 and find it pretty good (though slower than a good CF card) and it was less than £20 - probably cheaper now!
Make sure you get a Class 10 card.

| | | Re: Canon d60 memory card I've started using class 10's since upgrading to canon equipment. I have to say I'm not able to discern much difference in transfer speeds between the class 4 & 10 sandisk cards. Is this brand a specific issue in canon gear?

However your camera will write data to the card at a given max speed, if the card is faster than the cameras processor then you won't notice any difference in write speeds with faster cards.
I believe the processor on the 60D (Digic 4?) is pretty fast so I suggested a class 10 to be safe.
