I may be having second thoughts. I don't think any of us just yet need to start worrying, which reminds me, anyone want to buy a Betamax player?

| | | Re: Amazing New Camera Agreed Mike I too have been hasty with my opinion as a keen macro photographer to the extent i do little else but take record shots of true bugs the concept would be a great advantage to me but i think the technology is still in its infancy and it will be along way off before high end cameras with macro lenses to match will be available to the general public
I don't think it will be out in time to replace my trusty 40d |

3 megapixel R11 camera 14,900 euros so start saving your pennies!
light field photography the next big thing then?
there's doubts that it can be applied to serious macro photography due to light ratio and sensor size but 5-10 years on who knows? |

As Mike said it's the macro field I can see a real advantage. Depth of field is a real pain the more magnification you try. To have a camera that can help with this would be very useful, but not at THAT price!
If it does prove to be really good, who knows what the price may be in five years time.. |

| | | Re: Amazing New Camera I've been taking blurred, dark, out of focus and scratched photos since 1960. And no one, repeat no one, is going to take that away from me!
