Why I keep calling you Tony I don't know. Sorry mate.
Whatever you do, don't think that canon lenses are the B all, end all. They are not. L series might be the best, (are the best) but some Sigmas & Tamron can beat canons other lenses. Cash is the deciding factor in the end.
For wide angle have a look at one or two Sigma lenses.
Good Luck. |

Good Luck. | Yeh will do mate, It's bike like me buying a car, these lenses, I've never had the good fortune to choose a colour of a car, in comes in what it comes in.
The lens will be the best I can afford at the time (like all of us I s'pose)
Hope to catch up with you soon down the WWT

The 7D is a cracking camera though not maybe the first choice for landscape. I prefer my 5D for this sort of photography to most cameras I have tried (with the exception of my 1D4). However (I cannot remember what lenses you have) it may be a better idea to invest in some TOP quality glass for your 7D rather than getting a full frame camera and having to buy another lens or two. It may be cheaper as well! Have a good LONG look at the Canon 17-55 F2.8 (lots of pennies!) and the Tokina 11-16 (nearly as many pennies!) those two lenses will set you back less than a used 5d Mk1 and a nice nick 24-105 L.
Food for thought!
P.S. If you want to have a go of my 5D + lenses let me know.

Thanks for the offer of your 5D John but I reckon like you quite rightly said get the glass for what I've got.
Hey I hope to catch up with you soon too my friend
