Taping the pins on Canon extenders

The question of how to tape pins on the Canon extenders, so that the AF still works, gets asked quite often on WAB. So I have written the answer on my own website.

umm being see through doesnt do the trick, the tape has to insulate the pins

Surely it can be see through and still be insulating?

Instead of buying insulating tape you could go the slightly more expensive route and buy a EOS 1D.

how would that help dai ?- surely you would still need to tape the pins on the extender to retain autofocus with an f5.6 lens and as the 1D only has a 1.3 crop you would also need to use the extender more often .... or am i missing something here

Mine seems to work with see-through tape.

You also need to buy a 20D if you get the 1D MKIIN. The 20D is my teleconvertor
