| | | Advice on Flash Set Up Hi,
Can anyone help me understand which cables etc I need to purchase to hook up two sigma flash guns (sony compatable) to my Sony a700.
I have been firing the guns via wireless however I have found this a little hit and miss, hence the move to firing the guns via cable.
Sorry if this is a daft question.

| | | Re: Advice on Flash Set Up I've used up to four flashes with my Canon, the make of camera shouldn't make that much difference.
I've got one Sigma flash one Canon and two cheaper non specific flashes. As for settings, it depends on what your trying to take shots of. If you camera/flash offers ETTL then that's the way to go for the main flash gun.
I tend to have my main one wired with a Canon ETTL lead, and the others fired by remote sensors that pick up the main flash. Using ETTL it usually works well. For the non specific flash guns I just have them set to manual and I do test shots to see how much power I need to give me the output I want. No hard and fast rules as every situation is different. |

| | Re: Advice on Flash Set Up Sorry it has taken so long to respond, I thought you might get advice from somebody who knew exactly what they are talking about.
However, I think you will need Sony cables and an adapter that links to the hotshoe/flash connector. Like I say I have only used wireless transmission. Before binning this I assume you have ensured line of sight and clean air? There is an issue with pocket wizard triggers that gives hit and miss results, they are working on it.
Hope this makes some sort of sense.
