| | | Canon 100 - 400mm info required Hi all,
This question is really for the canon users amongst us.
I currently use the Canon 100 - 400 L zoom for most of my wildlife photography, (will be getting a macro soon ) and I was wondering how much close I could get if I used the canon 12mm or 25mm extension tubes. The current close focusing on this lens is about 6 feet. (or 1.8 metres for all you euro geeks! ) I know about the pitfalls and advantages of these tubes and I know there are others available at cheaper costs as I seen extension tubes have been covered extensively on here. I'm just wondering if someone out there in WAB world has these items and could do a quick experiment and let me know the answer.

| | | Re: Canon 100 - 400mm info required I had the 100-400 for over 5 years and was very happy with it (now traded for a 300mm F4 IS - better for me). I used it with my Jessops Extension tubes with some success, however whilst you can get closer you are not into macro territory. If you want to get close a proper macro lens is the only way IMO.
