| | | Canon preview problem I recently got a new macro lens for my canon and when trying to look at the preview to look through the images the camera went a bit funny as it refused to preview the shots and got a bit confused and started flashing the program it was on the figures started to go up and down.
It sort of malfunctioned could this be the lens or the camera it has not done it since.
Could I have confused it..
I turned the camera off then back on again and took another shot and it was OK then it happened again but when I turned it off it worked properly again and could preview the shots I had taken..
Any ideas...
Cheers Elaine |

I find that giving my equipment a 'strong talking to' often helps - at least I feel better afterwards. |

A very old Sigma lens with incompatible chip that I had always gave an error 99 - the Canon code for unspecified error. In the early days of Canon DSLRs, some older third-party Canon AF-fit lenses weren't compatible on account of the [micro]chip in the lens - typically Sigma lenses. I haven't heard of compatibility problems with third-party lenses for a long time so I'm hoping it really is an historical problem.
