I am trying to decide between the Nikkor 55-300mm and 70-300mm. There is about £120 difference in the price. I will probably go for the 70-300mm as well.

Just spotted this thread so sorry if anyone was waiting for my input

I have owned the 55-300mm VR for about 2 months and only used it a few times mainly due to the lack of decent weather. It is a good lens but not brilliant (imo). I have now traded it in for a 70-300 VR and so far the difference is noticeable, worth the extra £120 or so and the slight increase in weight. If feels like a better lens and has a couple of extra features the 55-300 hasn't got. When I've got the hang of it I'll post some pics.
