It has had very good reviews all round, apart from a couple of negative comments regarding pin cushion distortion at the long end when photographing architectural features with straight edges.
But if your interests lie in the natural world, where few things are truly straight/parallel, then this (very slight in my opinion) problem won't be detectable, let alone noticeable.
And with your D90, which has a 1.5 crop factor similar to my D80, you get the benefit of an effective 105-450mm zoom range.
