this lens has some adjustment buttons on it.
Stabilizer mode: 1&2

can anyone tell me what they are for/do

Hi, it's a great lens... as for the buttons...

Stabilizer mode: 1 is the standard mode and 2 is for panning
Stabilizer: Mine says On:Off so I assume 1 is on and 0 is off.
1.8-00 - this allows you to focus across the whole range of the lens (from minimum focusing of 1.8m to infinity)
6.5m-00 - this limits focusing to a minimum distance of 6.5m to infinity. It means that when working at a distance the autofocus doesn't have to do as much work and will focus more rapidly.
