overall the image does have a soft look to it compared to other lenses at the same apeture and focal length | Very difficult to say with the small forum image, though.

| | | Re: help with camara A shutter sound? what will they think of next (see the thread on keeping a shutter quiet ) It should be in the camera menu, they are usually easy to go through.
The 70-300 can give shake if hand held on the full 300mm but if you change
Shutter speed, look for shutter priority set 500th (for a start) the camera will take care of the aperture try it but it needs lots of good light.

| | | Re: help with camara For in flight shots use the Tv setting option (try to avoid the full auto setting whenever possible) and set the shutter speed to at least 1/1000 sec. You may need to also adjust the ISO options in order to obtain a reasonable aperture.
ISO of 400 should be fine and 800 will normally work satisfactorily if the light is good. Beyond that there is a risk of getting some 'noise' in the darker areas. But this is often acceptable in order to get the photo.
For flying birds, or sitting ones for that matter, against a sky you may have to use a little Exposure Compensation. Ask again if you have problems with this. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
