| | | New sigma lenses prices and release dates. Just seen this on sigma USA website.
"The Sigma APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM and APO MACRO 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM were first introduced at Photokina in September 2010. Those lenses will be available for purchase in late February and the end of March for the U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $4,700 and $1,600, respectively." Which is about £3000 and £1000.
The current 150mm macro lens has a RRP of £730 but sells approx 20 - 25% less. So if that stays the same, retail prices should be about £750 - £800 for this lens.
"All lenses will be released in Nikon and Canon mounts first, and will be available in Sigma, Pentax and Sony mounts shortly thereafter" Sigma Corporation shares pricing, availability for three weather-resistant lenses | sigmaphoto.com
And to add another bit of news, they have also announced that they are releasing the 105mm macro with OS.

| | | Re: New sigma lenses prices and release dates. Sigma have also announced a new 12-24mm (still the widest rectilinear full format lens available) with improved optics and weather resistance, and a 50-150mm DC f/2.8 OS crop format lens (roughly equivalent to a 70-210mm f/2.8 on FF). Oddly though, the 50-150 has gained a lot of size with the addition of OS and weather resistance. It's now roughly the same size as their 70-200, which defeats it's point slightly. |

by the time i can afford one, they will all be gone. alot of places are already showing them on back order or out of stock.
i wonder if there's a sigma 300 2.8 prime with OS in the pipeline?

| | | Re: New sigma lenses prices and release dates. I've emailed Sigma to ask about the release date for these... specifically the new 120-300 2.8 OS is what I'm interested in.
They say the soonest we can expect them now is the end of April due the the earthquake. Some equipment in the Japan factory was apparently damaged. |

I get the feeling we'd be waiting this long even if there hadn't been an earthquake. The fukushima sigma factory is apparently back up and running. |

Or should I wait | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
