Hi troops , new to the photo forum , but am really getting into my bird photography and would like a little advice on budget tripods please.
I own a cheap one but the movementis not very good and im looking at something smoother and reliable for when i do take pics.
Is there anything half decent under £50...?
I understand the usual rules apply , that the more money it is the better, but i cant get away with anything more... 
A point in the right direction would be great . cheers

The often quoted 'rules' are:
Cheap.
Rigid.
Light.
Choose any two of the above!

Redsnapper do a couple of very decent tripods for £49.95. I use one of these for my backup and when I travel by air and don't want to take my bulky tripod. I don't think you can go wrong for the price. Tripods and tripod heads from Redsnapper

Look locally for a good secondhand tripod you may get an expensive one for about half price.

I just looked through the "Trade it" and e-bay, loads of used tripods.
One from a student who bailed out of a course, brand new offered free with a camera! A lightweight Unilock, some Manfrotto, but these all need £15 postage buying locally will give more purchasing power
