If looking on the web I would try scopes n skies to look at all the choice and info.Not the same amount in a shop.Covers Astronomy and tripods plus loads of accessories.

Is there a high street shop that is more tailored to suit my needs than the on afore mentioned?

Maybe a London Camera Exchange in the area.Can get some bargains there.Or a trip to Reading.

Got myself a Velbon tripod.
Had to cut back on model/price coz of having to buy the new PC. 
Now for the telescope.
Very excited to be getting one! (Just don't want to get the wrong one!)
