| | | Pentax Kr with 170-500mm Any Pentax users here that have used this combo?
The Kr looks a great little camera and with the IS and usable higher ISOs I'm thinking this could be a great outfit for reasonable money.

| | | Re: Pentax Kr with 170-500mm Sorry Stephen I cannot help you, other than saying I have read a lot of reviews of the Pentax K-r (I have a few old K mount lenses so I'm looking at a Pentax DSLR) and every review is good.

| | | Re: Pentax Kr with 170-500mm The K-r certainly seems a very capable performer but I'm getting drawn into a Pentax K20D, with the added bonus of weather proofed, dual dials and top LCD. I'm sure the K-r sensor is more advanced but I'm thinking in the field the K20D will be better suited.
And still perform well with the 170-500mm.

| | | Re: Pentax Kr with 170-500mm I use the k20d in combination with the Sigma 150-500mm and despite my limited skills I get some good shots with it.
The great thing about the k20d over 'entry level' bodies is you get lots of pro/semi pro features eg. dual dials, interval shooting mode and wireless flash. |

| | | Re: Pentax Kr with 170-500mm I now have a Samsung GX-20 (rebadged K20d/same mount too) on its way to me
I also enjoy using old manual focus lenses and Pentax has many, great prices too. So these will go straight on without an adapter.
I will also be hunting down a 170-500mm now
