The Christmas break held things up slightly but the lens was collected on New Year's Eve and I got a call on Thursday to say that it's been assessed as beyond economic repair. They offered me the same model as a replacement and I decided to go with that. I've always been happy with the quality and I like the flexibility that the 5x zoom range gives. So it's just a matter of waiting for the delivery which will hopefully be next week.
Pretty good service from both the insurance company and the claim handlers so far!

Not long had my canon ... and sometimes i dont want to use it , cause of accidents like that  ...i pamper it like my dog

The new lens should be delivered on Monday, and I'll be pampering it too. I don't think they'll be very happy if I end up claiming a second time for the same lens!

My brand new, shiny (well, matt black) lens arrived today so I'm back in action!

Happy you got it sorted out quickly and after reading about your accident will now look into getting seperate insurance for all of my kit, rather than it just being on the house insurance. | | | |
