Old Pentax lenses

The thread about the Pentax K5 got me thinking.

Does anyone know if the original K mount lenses will fit Pentax DSLRs?

I have a few K-mount lenses and was thinking about getting a secondhand Pentax body.

These lenses date from 1975 and are the original K mount, not Kf or Ka or any other variant. They have no electronic contacts.

I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it, given I would lose all the info that you get with digital cameras.

It's one of pentax's boasts that they have massive backwards compatibility. It should fit onto a DSLR body, but with electrical contacts it'll be manual focus/aperture control only.

I've got some old lens I occasionally use, but they are all short focal lengths and little use for what I take photos of.
As for the lack of electrical contacts, if you can handle manual aperture rings and focus, the Pentax digital bodies (at least k20d onwards) have a 'green button' that will perform auto exposure/shutter speed.

I use a 35mm Super Takumar with a reversing ring for macro work, just check that elements that move do not grind against each other.
