| | | Re: Pentax K5 The D7000 has some problems with hot/stuck/dead pixels in some specimens as well.
Perhaps sony have made one slightly duff batch that got into a few K5's and D7000's? |

| | | Re: Pentax K5 Hi,
I would love to upgrade to a decent camera and have been impressed by the Pentax k7 and then I saw the 5 reviews: seriously unsure if the k5 is worth the extra £££ - can anyone advise please? Also, what is the difference between the DA and the WR lenses? Any advice gratefully received
Cheers,

| | | Re: Pentax K5 If your worried about the sensor issues it seems to be all sorted now. Pentax have swapped (or in the process of swapping) the old bodies and from the sounds of things there are no issues with the new bodies.
Pentax say the k5 is an improvement all round over the K7. The sensor certainly seems better at high iso and the AF is apparently better.
DA lenses are 'digital lenses' and are designed for cropped sensor.
WR are the weather resistant lenses.
hope this is helpful |

| | | Re: Pentax K5 My Christmas present to myself was a sparkly new K5 - checked and no sensor issues - WOOHOO!
Had a play around yesterday with my DA*300mm and it looks very good indeed so I'll try to get out to the reservoirs today for a while and a few more test shots.
I had planned on selling the K20D but I just can't bring myself to do it as it's been great with every lens I have ever used on it. I'll keep it as my Carry everywhere camera. |

Still not given it a full test but AF seems better and ISO 400 with no noise |

| | | Re: Pentax K5 Ive had it a few months now and I have to say its a great camera. AF is good, its well buiilt but the best bit of all is high ISO performance. Last weekend I was shooting in ok light (clouded over) at ISO 1600 which enabled me to shoot dragonflies in flight at 1/1250th sec. The images produced had some noise but at an amount that this was cleared up with the detail intact.
Would recommend this camera, especially not its available for £750 (and dropping in price it seems!) | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
