| | | Re: Flashgun reccomendations I've found the Kirk fb-8 Flash bracket, looks like a better bet than the Wimberley for me.
With regard to the 430 ex II, can anyone offer any advice to what batteries to use. I've read that rechargables are the best, can anyone give advice on brands ect.
And also an off camera cord, is it worth paying for the canon, or are third party ones just as good?
Many thanks, Matt. |

Many thanks, Matt. | I use Uniross rechrgables for mine with no issues, try and go for a higher power around 2700 mAh or more.
I don't recomend the Canon cord as I had one and it broke, because it is coiled it seems to put the connections under pressure, it's also not that long. Convenient if the flash is close to the camera but not if you want to move the flash further away.
I got one of these although it isn't much cheaper than the canon one, it is longer and as it's not coiled it doesn't stress the connections. Shop used as an example it is also available from other retailers! Lastolite 3m TTL Cord - Cords OffCamera Control
