7D and Sigma EM-140 DG Ring Flash

A friend of mine is using a Canon7D and a Sigma EM-140 Rf, like myself and he happen to mention if I was able to use mine in the E-TTL mode as he couldn't get his to work. I have only ever used this flash in manual mode but I did say I would see if mine worked in the E-TTL mode. I have just tried it and I can't get mine to work in this mode either. Can anyone help? Is it me or is it a compatability problem?

No my friend, I have had this ring flash for a few months now and have only ever used it in the manual mode, hence after my friends request, I have only just discovered tonight that I can't get it to work in the E-TTL mode either, was wondering if it's the operator to blame?

I never found the ETTL mode to be much use when I had these, especially when using for macro. Much prefer manual.
