Sigma have just announced a new 150mm f/2.8 EX OS HSM macro. Dpreview press release
No price has been mentioned yet, but I would guess at around £7-800
Also announced are a new weather sealed 120-300mm f/2.8 OS and a new sigma DSLR body with a 46 megapixel, 3 layer Foveon sensor.

Oh...I was on the verge of buying the current one,I suppose with this new release it would be worth waiting a while.
A.To see what price the new one is.
B.To see if / how much the current one drops in price.
They are claiming the image stabiliser can give you steady shots at up to four stops less.I was looking forward to using a proper Macro lens soon as well..... |

I'm the same as meadsman. Was going to buy the 150 at the end of the month when I get paid. will have to wait and see prices and reviews of this updated version now.

Be interesting to see if this comes out in K mount, as a lot of pentax users will be interested. Im happy with my 100mm for now though - doubt the extra 50mm would be worth it! |

The one that really interest me is the 120-300mm also now with OS, plus for the first time I think, a Sigma lens that is "weather resistant"
I could be in the market for one of these If the optical performance is good. |

The new SD1 46mp body is interesting.
It's not a single 46mp sensor, it's a 3 layer sensor, each layer with roughly 15mp.
Sigma's own bodies have never really taken off though. Probably because you're locked into just one lens brand.

| You cant currently get the 150mm macro in k mount at all! The new 50-500 ha OS which work in conjuction with the body OS so could be the same with this. |

Me too, the 120-300 was on my saving up list!
Already bought the Canon 100mm macro with IS so can't quite justify the 150
