| | | Lumix FZ45 Just traded my TZ6 in for a new FZ45, an impressive 24x optical zoom and up to 14 megapixels, but you can read all about it on other websites. Here's a couple of pics of St Albans cathedral, one at 1x and one at 24x. I had to re-size them but that's about all. Oh, and one of a BH gull at fairly high zoom.
Comments/criticism welcome!

| | | Re: Lumix FZ45 Good shots Robin, especially the close up of the catherdral.
I use one of the earlier models (fz28) which is a great camera, so I'm interested in how Panasonic have developed this range of cameras.

| | | Re: Lumix FZ45 Hi Robin,
Looks like lots of fun and exploration to come.
This is one I was interested in, the new fz45 but one of the issues was whether there was a screw thread on the front of the lens to fit stepping rings for closeup attachments like the fz 38 does - its not clear from any pics of the new camera and the Panasonic website doesnt mention it...........
Can you help? Does it have a screw thread on the lens front (and what size is it!)
Cheers

I can't see any screw thread apart from the one for filters. Must say I'm quite impressed despite some bad reviews on the web, it's also so light compared to my DSLR.

| | | Re: Lumix FZ45 Hi Robin, that's the thread that Ken needs info on. (I too tried to find this out and failed due to lack of info on the Panasonic website).
If you were buying a filter to screw onto the front of the lens, what size would it be?
Filter size in mm. should be written on the front of the lens, or at least mentioned in the user manual somewhere.
Regards,
Mike. |

Robin | Hi Robin,
Nice pics. I'm gutted there's now an FZ45, lucky you!!
I bought the FZ38 a few months back, 18x zoom & 12.1 megapixels.
Here are a few pics I took with it last weekend from the Windsor Eye/Wheel.
Windsor Castle
Eton Bridge
Wembley Stadium on the horizon
The BT Tower on the left & The Gherkin just right of centre
Canary Wharf to the right
I think these FZ's are fantastic camera's without the need for lots of add-ons, very light to carry & great value for money!
I hope you get lots of enjoyment from yours, I certainly am from mine!

As for the filter size, it is 55m and according to the user manual you can buy a lens adapter which is necessary when attaching a close-up or telephoto lens.

Sorry if I've gone a bit mad but I didn't know what subject's you wanted.
Hope these cover it as examples.
Thanks,
Cordaline.

Only one from me, but I'm quite pleased with it, taken using the 'close-up mode' a few inches away from the subject.
Let me know if you'd like some more.
