| | | Watch out on trains Not sure where to post this but as quite a few of us have expensive camera equipment and possibly laptops, this seems a good place.
Perhaps I have just missed this in the past, but it happened to a work colleague a couple of weeks ago.
He was travelling by train and arrived about 15 mins before the train left so popped his stuff on the luggage rack and settled down to read the paper.
After the train left he found that someone among the people boarding and moving through the carriage in those 15 mins, had boarded, picked up his laptop and walked off.
Never thought about it before but it is a golden opportunity for a thief - we assume anyone doing things around the racks is just putting stuff up there.

| | | Re: Watch out on trains It may sound a rather snobby. But my daughter regularly travels between London & Scotland, and has found it, by far the best option, to book well in advance and to travel 1st class. She once got a ticket (1st class) from Glasgow Central to London Euston, for under £60.00. And being 1st class free WiFi all the way, with a 13 amp socket under the table. Not to mention the free drinks and snacks. And NO CROWDS. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
