I had the Sony 30mm macro great little lens sharp as a tack but for macro bugs answcts etc it's too short you have to get so close it's not practical but as a standard lens it's great value , only got rid of mine as I had a minolta 28mm also had the sigma but for dedicated macro not brilliant, I got a tamron 90mm f2.8 briiliant lens sharp and great value the only slight drawback is af is slow but for most closeup stuff you are better off with manual anyway. I would say if you want to get into macro get a dedicated 1:1 lens decent tripod and a flashgun there are some examples on my website but I don't think I'm alowed to put a link here
